Board Meeting Minutes

July 21, 2003



A Meeting of the Uptown Facade Board was held in the Council Chambers on the

Plaza Level of the Columbus Consolidated Government Center, July 21, 2003.



Members Present: Peter Bowden Pat Love Scott Ressmeyer

Neil Clark Brown Nicholson

Jack Collins Virginia Peebles, Ex Officio

Fred Greene Mark Renner

CALL TO ORDER:



Meeting was called to order by Peter Bowden, Chairman. A quorum was present.

The Minutes of the June 16 Meeting were approved.





Case Reviews:



1222, 1224 Broadway Application was presented by Mark Renner for George

Jeter. The request was for approval of paint colors for the two buildings

as well as the installation/color of awnings and the painting of a garage

door in the rear of the structure. The garage door would be painted a A

brick@ color to match the existing brick wall. The applicant also

discussed the plans to addressed brick areas on the front facade of these

buildings. Due to extensive damage to the front facades from prior

insensitive modifications, the previously approved changes will not be

implemented. The Board reviewed and discussed the application. A motion

was made by Neil Clark to approve the application as presented. Pat Love

seconded the motion. The motion passed.



Administration of the Facade Board:

The Board discussed various locations that were not in compliance with the

Design Guidelines. The Board requested a letter be sent to Ron Hamlet, Traffic

Engineer, in reference to permitting of outdoor cafes. The Board requested a

letter be sent to the owners of the Flowers= Building in reference to the

window coverings on the respective apartment units in this building.



The Board was informed that Kevin Welch has been appointed by City Council to

fill the unexpired term of Mark Lupo who resigned in May.
