A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO POST & MCDANIEL, P.C., ATTORNEYS FOR

MELLISA MORGAN, ET. AL. IN THE AMOUNT OF $238,750.00 FOR THE MEDIATED

SETTLEMENT OF A JAIL LAW SUIT.



WHEREAS, this case was mediated to settlement at Resolution Resources

Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia on March 7, 2003;



WHEREAS, this Council, after consultation with its attorneys, deems it

appropriate to settle this matter without resort to trial.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to make payment to Post & McDaniel,

P.C., Attorneys for Mellisa Morgan, et al. in the amount of $238,750.00 for the

mediated settlement of a jail law suit. Funds are available in FY03,

0101-2067, General Fund - Court Judgments.
