A RESOLUTION



NO.



WHEREAS, General Paul Eaton and his staff at Fort Benning were recently

involved in the protection of the Main Gate at Fort Benning during the weekend

of November 16-17, 2002;



WHEREAS, General Eaton and his staff are to be commended for the manner in

which they assisted local law enforcement officials in the protection of

citizens, city, state and federal property and visitors during the

demonstrations of November 16-17, 2002;



WHEREAS, this Council deems it appropriate to commend General Eaton and his

staff for their exemplary conduct during the weekend of November 16-17, 2002,

and their service to our country.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to General Paul Eaton and

his staff at Fort Benning for their assistance to local law enforcement and the

Columbus community during the weekend of November 16-17, 2002. Let a copy of

this resolution be forwarded to General Paul Eaton.
