SUBJECT: STREET ACCEPTANCE

Recommendation: Approve the acceptance of the deed to Rollins Way located in

Land Lot 64, 8th District on behalf of Columbus, Georgia.



Background: Rollins Way has been improved and meets the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been submitted conveying to the City Rollins Way located

in Land Lot 64, 8th District. Description of the property is as follows: ?All

that tract and parcel of land situate, lying and being in the State of Georgia,

County of Muscogee and City of Columbus, and being known and designated on that

certain map or plat entitled ?Replat of the Property of Developers-Investors,

Inc., lying in Land Lot 64, 8th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia?

prepared by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., under date of March 20, 2002, a

copy of same being recorded in Plat Book 146, Folio 1, of the records in the

Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, to which

plat reference is hereby made for more specific dimensions, as the following

herein described streets.?



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty expires.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-ways must be accepted by written Resolution of Council.



Recommendations/Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting the deed to

Rollins Way in Land Lot 64, 8th District.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO ROLLINS WAY LOCATED IN

LAND LOT 64, 8TH DISTRICT ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GA.



WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has submitted a deed conveying to Columbus, Georgia,

Rollins Way located in Land Lot 64, 8th District, a full description of said

property being shown in said deed; and,



WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,



WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

street for acceptance by the City and recommends acceptance of same.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That certain deed dated the ____ day of _________ 2002, conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, all of Rollins Way located in Land Lot 64, 8th District, be and the

same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have

said deed recorded in the deed records in the Office of the Clerk of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of said deed is hereto

attached and by this reference made a part of this Resolution.
