A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, James B. Redd, former basketball coach at Central-Phenix City, was

recently inducted into the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame;



WHEREAS, Coach Redd?s teams at Central-Phenix City averaged 20 wins per season

during his 15 years of coaching;



WHEREAS, he became head basketball coach at Central-Phenix City in 1974 and his

teams posted 312 wins and 97 loses until his retirement in 1989;



WHEREAS, Coach Redd graduated from Alabama State with a Bachelor of Science

degree in chemistry and math and received a Master?s Degree in science

education from Fisk University in 1971;

WHEREAS, Coach Redd?s accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and congratulate Coach James B. Redd of Central-Phenix City

upon his induction into the Chattahoochee Valley Sports Hall of Fame and we

wish him every success in the future. Let a copy of this Resolution be

forwarded to Coach James B. Redd.
