The Columbus, Georgia, Board of Tax Assessors met Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at

2:00PM with Chairman Lawton Grantham, Assessors Richard Stallings, Ann

Grantham, William Braxton and Pat Hunter present. Also present was Chief

Appraiser Martin J. Land.



Assessor Richard Stallings made a motion to approve Minutes #10-03, Assessor

Ann Grantham second the motion, motion carried unanimously.



The Board approved assessment corrections for real estate.



The Board of Tax Assessors reviewed the information received from the Georgia

Baptist Children?s Home & Family Ministries regarding their request for

non-taxability. The Board asked Chief Appraiser Martin Land to contact City

Attorney Clifton Fay to obtain a legal opinion whether the property qualifies

for tax exempt status or if additional information is needed from the Georgia

Baptist Children?s Home & Family Ministries.



The Board also discussed a pending litigation case confirming their previous

decision; the case has been certified to the Board of Equalization and should

go through the legal procedures.



The following VA letter of application for VA exemption was reviewed and

approved:
