Pierce Chapel Water Shed/Lake



May 17, 2002- On Thursday and Friday, May 9 -10, 2002, employees were servicing

the Pierce Chapel Water Shed/Lake. On Monday, May 13, 2002 they inadvertenly

left the valve open which caused the Lake to completely drain killing the fish

in the Lake. We are taking immediate action to clean up the dead fish to

minimize the smell.



Employees and immate crews are on site today to ensure immediate cleanup. We

hope to receive rain today and tommorrow so that we can start to restore the

water level. Once we have reached the appropriate water level, the City will

take full responsibility for restocking the lake and making the neighborhood

whole again. This is an unfortunate human error and it is our goal to correct

this error as quickly as possible.
