Good Afternoon.

This week, prospective candidates qualified for all state, congressional, and

judicial seats. Qualifying was open from Monday morning until Friday, April

30, 2003 at noon. Interestingly, there were several veterans not seeking re

election, there was a wave of 'party switchers' in the house, and match ups of

both incumbents and high profile stakeholders.

The Special Session starts Monday, May 3rd. Reports indicate that a compromise

has been reached between the Governor, House Leadership, and the Judicial

Branch. As such, we expect Indigent Defense to be the only item discussed and

that the session will conclude that Friday.
