Council Members
WHEREAS, the Jordan High School "Green Team" volunteered their service and time

to plant trees in the Beallwood Community on February 20, 2003 in recognition

of Arbor Day;



WHEREAS, this Arbor Day celebration was sponsored by the Keep Columbus

Beautiful Commission, Georgia Power, Mead/Westvaco, Trees Columbus, Inc., the

Georgia Forestry Commission and the Columbus Consolidated Government Urban

Forestry & Beautification Division;



WHEREAS, the efforts of these students will help to improve the quality of

life for Beallwood residents, enhance the beauty of the community, clean the

air and provide habitat for wildlife.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our appreciation to the following members of the

Green Team from Jordan High School for their participation in Arbor Day

activities in Columbus: Lauren Wertz, Hunter Greear, Embry Britain, Chris

Moore, Jeremy Hart, Benjamin Haynes, Nancy Greear, Lakeitha Walker, Tierra

Spearman, Jose Hernandez, Kenny Bell, Jerome Johnson, Elizabeth Osborne,

Brittany Cox and Mr. Charlie Sheeks, Faculty Advisor. Let a copy of this

resolution be forwarded to Mr. Charlie Sheeks, Faculty Advisor at Jordan High

School.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

4th March, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ten

members of said Council.
