THE GREATER COLUMBUS GOLF AUTHORITY

MINUTES OF MEETING

March 23, 2004

The Greater Columbus Golf Authority held the scheduled monthly meeting at Bull

Creek Golf Course. Members present were Chairman Donald Clack, Floyd

Washington, Earl Bagley, Richard Hagler, Willie Hill, Rick Cravens and Nancy

Wilkeson. Rhudine Nelson and June Holder had an excused absence. Staff members

present were John Milam and Steve Brown.

Minutes of the February 24, 2004, meeting were approved as presented. Motion

made by Richard Hagler and seconded by Willie Hill.

Report of Steve Brown, Superintendent

The aeration of the greens with hydro-jet has been done. Top dressing will be

done in the next few weeks after more grass growth. The sand bunkers have

improved greatly. The fairways have been sprayed with herbicide. The West

Course will have the tees top-dressed. Topsoil will be added to the irrigation

lines and hand raked. On 7 fairway the underbrush was cut and guardrails were

added. Fertilizing the fairways will come soon. We now have inmate labor

working on Saturdays. With this additional labor, the greens are cut and

bunkers are raked. On Sunday, only the greens are cut. Ten pilot valves have

failed on the East Side and the manufacture will change out. This will be done

during the winter months.

Godwin Creek

Godwin Creek has $1643 in the bank and is still awaiting the three thousand

dollars from the Yancey Foundation. The city dug the irrigation pond out. The

pump will cost about $300 to repair. Godwin Creek will have water within the

next few weeks.

Report of John Milam, Director of Golf

Financial Report:

Oxbow Creek received $141,227 from the city. John Milan will find out why this

figure was not the entire $150,000. Revenue from February ?04 was slightly

down from February ?03. However, the revenue through March 21, 2004 is at

$17,629 compared to $9,572 for the entire month of March ?03.

Bull Creek received $367,766 from the city. Their revenue was slightly higher

in February ?04 than February ?03. The revenue for the first 21 days in March

?04 is $22,600 higher than March ?03. Maintenance has gone from 13 to 8

full-time employees.

Project Update:

The contractor should return in April. We are awaiting soil temperatures to

rise. The 13th green and 18th fairway need the most work.

John Milan will survey our competitors to see if Bull Creek needs to adjust

their fees.

A motion was made at 4:35 p.m. to adjourn by Richard Hagler and seconded by

Rick Cravens.

Respectfully submitted,

Nancy Wilkeson, Secretary
