The term of office of Mr. Jimmy Sullivan on the Board of Health will
expire on December 31, 2002. Mr. Sullivan is eligible to succeed himself for
one additional four-year term of office.
All five board members who currently serve on this board reside in
Senatorial District 16. There is currently one (1) woman serving on this board.
Enclosed is a copy of our data sheet, as well as a list of the current
members.

Charge/Mission
This board is responsible for the operation of the Columbus Department of
Public Health. It has seven (7) members, two (2) of which must be licensed and
practicing physicians and three other citizen members, all of which are
appointed by the Columbus Council. The Mayor and the City Manager serve in the
other two positions by virtue of their titles. (Ga. Laws, 1941, Page 937 and
Columbus Charter, Sec. 4-601)
