RESOLUTION
NO.
WHEREAS, the City of London was brutally attacked on Thursday, July 7, 2005 by
a series of terrorist bombings;
WHEREAS, at least fifty innocent persons lost their lives and hundreds more
were wounded in these vicious attacks upon the London transportation system;
WHEREAS, the bombings constituted the worst attacks on London since World War
II;
WHEREAS, the United States and Great Britain remain staunch allies in the war
on terrorism;
WHEREAS, on behalf of the citizens of Columbus, Georgia, the Columbus Council
wishes to offer its support and convey its sincere condolences and deepest
sympathy to the citizens of London and Great Britain.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
We hereby express our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the citizens
of London and Great Britain regarding the terrorist attacks of July 7, 2005.
Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded by the Clerk of Council to London
Mayor Ken Livingstone.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on
the 19th day of July, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote
of _____ members of said Council.
