Recommendation: Approval is requested for the City Manager to execute a three

(3) year extension of the lease agreement with the Columbus Professional

Football Club, L.L.C.



Background: The Columbus Wardogs football team located in Columbus in 2000.

The franchise provides an alternative recreational source for the City of

Columbus in the form of Arena Football. The team has completed the final

season of the original three (3) year agreement and would like to exercise the

option to extend the agreement for an additional three (3) years.



Analysis: The Columbus Professional Football Club, L.L.C. plays an eight (8)

game season between April and August. These games provide little conflict with

other entertainment and events. In addition to providing an alternative

recreational source for Columbus and the region, these games provide revenue to

the Columbus Civic Center.



Financial Considerations: Financial considerations are outlined in the enclosed

contract. The proposed changes in revenue are as follows: $1.50 facility fee

waived and the Wardogs receive 50% of concessions.



Recommendation: Authorize the City Manager to execute a three (3) year

extension of the lease agreement with the Columbus Professional Football Club,

L.L.C.
