A RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Columbus businessman Bill Heard, Jr. has graciously donated two acres

of land near the intersection of McKee Road and Macon Road to be used for

construction of a new fire station;



WHEREAS, the new fire station will serve the Midland-Upatoi area and will

ensure a source of fire protection for residents in these communities;



WHEREAS, the value of the land to be donated by Mr. Heard is approximately

$50,000;



WHEREAS, this generous donation by Mr. Heard is worthy of special recognition

by this Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to Mr. Bill Heard, Jr. for

his generous donation of property near the intersection of McKee Road and Macon

Road which will be used for construction of a new fire station to serve the

Midland-Upatoi areas. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr.

Bill Heard, Jr.
