RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Desha Golatt, an eighth-grader at Baker Middle School, recently won

the Muscogee County School District Spelling Bee;

WHEREAS, she beat 42 other contestants to win the competition and correctly

spelled 21 words during 21 rounds of spelling over a two-hour period;

WHEREAS, Desha became the first Baker student to win the Spelling Bee for

grades 4-8;

WHEREAS, she also competed at the Byron City Complex Auditorium in one of

Georgia?s eleven regional spelling competitions;

WHEREAS, her accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this Council.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby commend and congratulate Baker Middle School student Desha Golatt

upon her victory in the Muscogee County School District Spelling Bee and we

wish her every success in the future. Let a copy of this Resolution be

forwarded to Desha Golatt.

5th day of April, 2005, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
