An Ordinance amending the Zoning Atlas of the Consolidated Government
of Columbus, Georgia; this amendment changes certain boundaries of a district
located at 3707 and 3717 2nd Avenue, from A-O (Apartment-Office) District to
C-3 (General Commercial) District.
THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
That the Zoning Atlas on file with the Planning Division of the
Department of Community and Economic Development be, and the same is hereby
amended by changing the following described property from A-O
(Apartment-Office) District to C-3 (General Commercial) District:
All those tracts or parcels of land lying and being in the former Town of Bibb
City, City of Columbus, Muscogee County, and State of Georgia, known as Lots 17
and 18, in Block ?A? of the property of the North Highland Land Improvement and
Manufacturing property made by J.L. Cowan on December 10, 1890, as amended in
July, 1899, more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the West line of 2nd Avenue 149.3 feet South of the
Southwest corner of the intersection of 2nd Avenue and 38th Street; thence
extending South along the West line of 2nd Avenue for a distance of 100.85 feet
to the Southeast corner of said Lot 18; thence West along the South line of
said Lot 18 for a distance of 149.5 feet to the East line of the property of
Bibb Manufacturing Company; thence North along said East line of the property
of Bibb Manufacturing Company for a distance of 102.90 feet to the Northwest
corner of said Lot 17 for a distance of 148.5 feet, more or less, to the point
of beginning. Situated upon said Lot 17 is a brick store known as 3707 2nd
Avenue.
And
All that tract or parcel of land located in Muscogee County, Georgia, being a
part of Lots A and B, Block ?A? of the North Highland Land Improvement and
Manufacturing property, as they appear and are distinguished in the map or plat
of the North Highland Land Improvement and Manufacturing Company. Property made
J.L. Cowan dated December 10, 1890, and amended in July, 1899, said tract being
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point on the Westerly line of 2nd Avenue 29.55 feet Southerly
from the Southwest corner formed by the intersection of 38th Street and 2nd
Avenue; thence running in a Southerly direction along the West line of 2nd
Avenue 22.45 feet to the North wall of the building where was formerly located
the Pastime Theater; thence running in a Westerly direction 72.1 feet along the
North wall of said theater to the Easternmost point of a 5.02 foot alleyway;
thence running in a Northerly direction along the East line of said alleyway
5.02 feet to a point located on the North line of said alleyway; thence running
in an Easterly direction parallel with the North wall of the said former
theater a distance of 0.5 foot; thence Northerly along the centerline of a
brick wall separating building numbered 3717 2nd Avenue from building numbered
116 38th Street a distance of 10 feet; thence Northerly along the center line
of a brick wall separating building numbered 3717 2nd Avenue from building
numbered 116 38th Street a distance of 12.67 feet to the South line of the wall
separating building numbered 3717 2nd Avenue from building numbered 3719 2nd
Avenue a distance of 61.6 feet to the point of beginning.
