A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING METRA TRANSIT SYSTEM, AND BUS

OPERATORS DARRION MITCHELL, RAYMOND ROBERTS, LUEBIRDER EDGE, MOSES SMITH, PEGGY

DUDLEY, LEE HOEY AND DONALD JACKSON JR. FOR DEMONSTRATING EXPERT DRIVING SKILLS

IN THE 2003 SOUTHWEST GEORGIA BUS ROADEO.



WHEREAS, On April 6, 2003, METRA Transit System hosted the 14th Annual

Southwest Georgia Bus Roadeo Competition in Columbus, Georgia at the Columbus

Civic Center;



WHEREAS, METRA Transit System Bus Operators Darrion Mitchell 1st place winner,

Raymond Roberts 2nd place winner, Luebirder Edge 3rd place winner, Moses Smith

4th place winner, Lee Hoey Rookie Champion, Peggy Dudley participant, and

Donald Jackson Jr. rookie participant, competed in the 35-foot bus category;



WHEREAS, METRA captured the 2003 Southwest Roadeo Team Trophy by having the

highest overall team score against Macon and Albany Transit Systems. This

victory is truly an amazing demonstration of team skills and safe driving

abilities because METRA has won the Team Trophy 10 out of the last 14 years.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



We commend and congratulate METRA Transit System and Bus Operators Darrion

Mitchell, Raymond Roberts, Luebirder Edge, Moses Smith, Peggy Dudley, Lee Hoey

and Donald Jackson Jr. for demonstrating expert driving skills in the Southwest

Georgia Bus Operator?s Roadeo. Their accomplishments give statewide

recognition to METRA Transit System and the Columbus Consolidated Government.

METRA operators are an asset to the Columbus Consolidated Government and to the

entire community. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-

named recipients.

15th day of April, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of
