AN ORDINANCE

An ordinance transferring full time Airport Public Safety Officers from the

General Government Pension Plan to the Public Safety Pension Plan of the

Columbus Consolidated Government.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:



SECTION 1.



That the Human Resources Department is hereby authorized to transfer current

Airport Public Safety officers employed by the Columbus Airport Commission, who

are fully qualified members of the General Government Pension Plan to the

Public Safety Pension Plan of the Columbus Consolidated Government.



SECTION 2.



Future Airport Public Safety Officers who become qualified for

membership in the Columbus Georgia Pension Plan will be enrolled in the Public

Safety Pension Plan upon meeting all requirements for said membership.



SECTION 3.



The Columbus Airport Commission will make required contributions for

its employees to the Columbus Georgia Pension Plan as determined by plan

actuaries.



SECTION 4.



The effective date of this Ordinance shall be upon receipt of payment

to the Columbus Georgia Pension Plan from the Columbus Airport Commission, for

prior incurred liability of the employees transferring to the Public Safety

Pension Plan, as identified by plan actuaries.



SECTION 5.



All Ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

the 20th day of December, 2005; introduced a second time at a regular meeting
