CONSENT AGENDA:
(1) 2ND Reading ? An ordinance cancelling the work session of Columbus
Council for Tuesday, June 25, 2002 and scheduling a regular Council meeting for
Thursday, June 27, 2002 at 9:00a.m. on the Plaza level of the Government
Center. (Councilor Turner Pugh)
(2) CONDEMNATION OF PROPERTY:
Authorization is requested for the condemnation of 115 acres of real property
adjacent to Standing Boy Creek Park and enter into a Purchase Option with the
Department of Natural Resources for said property. An agenda report,
resolution and map are included.

(4) ACCEPTANCE OF STREETS - WATERSTONE DRIVE, WATERVIEW DRIVE AND
WATERSTONE COURT:
Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Waterstone Drive,
Waterview Drive and Waterstone Court located in Waterstone Subdivision. The
Department of Engineering has inspected these streets and recommends the
acceptance. An agenda report, resolution and map are included.
(5) ACCEPTANCE OF STREET ? ROLLINS WAY:
Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to Rollins Way located
in Land Lot 64, 8th District. The Department of Engineering has inspected this
street and recommends the acceptance. An agenda report, resolution and map are
included.
(6) ACCEPTANCE OF DETENTION POND:
Authorization is requested for the acceptance of a deed to 0.897 acre detention
pond located in Section Four, peppertree II Subdivision. The Department of
Engineering has inspected this pond and recommends the acceptance. An agenda
report, resolution and map are included.
(7) Application of Burnet Quick for a temporary street closure of the parallel
parking spaces next to median in 1000 block of Broadway, every Thursday from
May 2 ? July 4, 2002, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in connection with ?Concert
Series?. (Oppositions identified ? Olive Branch Caf? ? 1032 Broadway and Old
City Jail ? 1039 Broadway.)
(8) Application of Burnet Quick for a temporary street closure of the 1100
block of Broadway, on May 4, 2002, from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., in connection

1. Additions and Renovations to the Columbus, Georgia Convention and Trade
Center ? Bid No. 02-0085
Scope of Bid
The project consists of major new additions to the existing complex
comprising approximately of 115,000 square feet, and the renovation of the
existing facility of approximately 180,000 square feet. The project will be
constructed in two phases consisting primarily of new construction to the west
of existing facility followed by additions and renovations to the existing
building. Bids will be accepted only from pre-qualified bidders.
2. Paper Products & Related Supplies for Columbus Civic Center (Annual
Contract) ? Bid No 02-0108
Scope of Bid
Provide paper products and related supplies on an ?as needed basis? to Columbus
Civic Center. The term of contract shall be for one year, with the option to
renew for four (4) additional twelve-month periods. Contract renewal will be
contingent upon the mutual agreement of the City and the Contractor.
3. Automated External Defibrillators ? Bid No. 02-0114
Scope of Bid
Provide fifteen automated external defibrillators for the Fire/EMS Department
and the Parks and Recreation Department.
4. 35-Ft Low Floor Clean Diesel Transit Buses ? Bid No. 02-0078
Scope of Bid
Provide four 35-ft low floor clean diesel transit buses for METRA
Transportation. The units will be replacements for fixed route revenue buses
that are beyond their useful life.

5. 26-Ft Low Floor Clean Diesel Mini-Buses ? Bid No. 02-0087
Scope of Bid
Provide two 26-ft low floor clean diesel transit buses for METRA
Transportation. The units will replace two mini-buses that are beyond their
useful life.
6. 30-Ft Low Floor Clean Diesel Transit Bus ? Bid No. 02-0088
Scope of Bid
Provide one 30-ft low floor clean diesel transit bus for METRA Transportation.
The unit is a replacement for one that is beyond its useful life.
7. Traffic Sign Materials ? (Annual Contract) ? Bid No. 02-0103
Scope of Bid
Provide traffic sign materials to the Traffic Engineering Division on an ?as
needed basis?. The contract period will be for one (1) year with the option to
renew for three (3) additional twelve-month periods.
8. Columbus Streetscapes Phase 2 ? Bid No. 02-0083
Scope of Bid
The work includes demolition of all existing asphalt street paving, granite
curbing and concrete sidewalks within the length of one city block. The
reconstruction of this area will consist of new pavement, granite curbing,
concrete sidewalks with brick pavers, brick crosswalks, an underground
irrigation system, and appropriate landscaping.

9. Rescue Equipment ? Bid No. 02-0117
Scope of Bid
Provide hydraulic rescue equipment (3 sets), Amkus or equivalent and pneumatic
strut trench rescue equipment (1 set), Airshore International Rescue or
equivalent. Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services will use the
equipment to extract entrapped patients from vehicles, aircraft, building
collapses, trenches, etc.

Scope of RFP
Provide Columbus Consolidated Government with professional long distance
telephone services. The contract term shall be for one year, with an option to
renew for four additional twelve-month periods. Contract renewal will be
contingent upon the mutual agreement of the City and the Contractor.
2. Playground Equipment ? RFP No. 02-0033
Scope of RFP
The City requires a firm to design and install new multi-unit playground
systems for Carver Park and Rigdon Park, and to provide replacement of multiple
playground or single playground components at several other parks.

1. Fiber Optic Services for an 800 MHz Radio Communication System ? RFP No.
02-0017
Scope of RFP
Provide fiber optics links between radio transmission sites within the City?s
800 MHz Trunked Simulcast Radio Communication System. The City's Radio System
uses two microwave paths/links to transmit voice and mobile data between
transmission sites. This RFP is part of a project to convert the existing
microwave paths to fiber optics links.
