SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - Village Loop



INITIATED BY: Engineering Department







Recommendation: Approve the acceptance of the deed to Village Loop

located in Section Eight, Kirkwood Subdivision.



Background: Kirkwood Subdivision currently consists of nineteen

residential lots. The street has been improved and meets the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.



Analysis: A deed has been submitted to the City conveying Village Loop located

in Section Eight, Kirkwood Subdivision. A description of the property is as

follows: "All those lots, tracts and parcels of land situate, lying and being

in Columbus, Mucogee County, Georgia, and comprising those portions of Village

Loop in that certain subdivision known as Section Eight, Kirkwood Subdivision,

as said streets and portions of said streets are shown upon a map or plat of

said subdivision recorded in Plat Book 147, Folio 43 & 44 in the Office of the

Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, and to which map or

plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the streets

hereby conveyed."



Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is

assumed after the two-year warranty expires.



Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,

all dedicated right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.



Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Village

Loop located in Section Eight, Kirkwood Subdivision.











A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO VILLAGE LOOP

LOCATED IN SECTION EIGHT, KIRKWOOD SUBDIVISION ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS,GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying to

Columbus, Georgia, Village Loop located in Section Eight, Kirkwood Subdivision;

a full description of said property being shown in said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required

specifications for acceptance by the City; and.

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected

said street for acceptance by the City and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated the _13th__ day of _September, 2002_,

conveying to Columbus, Georgia, all of Village Loop located in Section Eight,

Kirkwood Subdivision, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of

Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the deed records in

the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A

copy of said deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this

Resolution.
