Recommendation: Approve the acceptance of the deed to the 0.897 acre detention
pond located in Section Four, Peppertree II Subdivision.
Background: A detention pond was constructed for Section Four, Peppertree II
Subdivision. Council accepted the streets on December 11, 2001 and on April 9,
2002 respectively. The Owner has maintained the pond since its construction.
The detention pond has been improved and meets the required specifications for
acceptance by the City.
Analysis: A deed has been submitted conveying to the City of Columbus the
0.897 acre detention pond located in Section Four, Peppertree II Subdivision.
Description of the property is as follows: ?All that tract and parcel of land
situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being known
and designated as "Detention Basin" in that certain subdivision known as
Section Four, Peppertree II, as said tract and parcel are shown upon a map or
plat of said subdivision recorded in Plat Book 145, folios 9 and 10 in the
Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, and to
which map or plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of
the tract and hereby conveyed.?
Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is
assumed after the two-year warranty expires.
Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code,
all dedicated right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to the 0.897
acre detention pond located in Section Four, Peppertree II Subdivision.
