WHEREAS, the Hardaway High Lady Hawks softball team recently won their first

Class AAAA Georgia State Championship crown;



WHEREAS, Hardaway beat Ringgold 4-0 to win the championship game and also

defeated teams from Lakeside-Evans and Greenbrier to reach the finals;



WHEREAS, the 2003 season marked the sixth straight 20-win season for the Lady

Hawks, the fourth consecutive regional championship and the team finished with

a school record of 33-4;



WHEREAS, this team's accomplishments are worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate the following Hardaway High School Lady Hawks

softball players upon their victory in the 2003 Class AAAA State Championship

Tournament: Allison Bullard, Rachael Darr, Jessica Marino, Kim Stansell,

Jordan Tharp, Kim Turnbull, Meigan Grimm, Amanda Martin, Aileen Morales, Sara

Powell, Sydney Nixon, Quinley Sneddon, Haley Ridenour and Lauren Ferguson, and

Coaches Marty Richburg and Bill Stohr. Columbus is justly proud of this team?s

hard work and dedication and we wish them every success in the future. Let a

copy of this resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.
