Council Members
WHEREAS, the School of Dance from the Korean National University of Arts

recently performed in Columbus;



WHEREAS, the performance took place on July 6, 2004 at the Benning Park Super

Center and was billed as the Korean-American Friendship Performance in

Celebration of July 4th;



WHEREAS, the event was hosted by the Korean American Association of Greater

Atlanta and the Consolidated Government of Columbus, organized by the Southeast

Korean American Association, sponsored by the Consulate General of the Republic

of Korea and was planned by the Southeast Dance Association of America;



WHEREAS, the event fostered a continuation of good relations between Columbus,

Georgia and the Republic of Korea and is worthy of special recognition by this

Council.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby commend and express our deep appreciation to Ms. Kija Humphus, the

Korean American Association of Greater Atlanta, the Southeast Korean American

Association, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea and the Southeast

Dance Association of America for their organization of the Korean-American

Friendship Performance in Celebration of July 4th. Let a copy of this

Resolution be forwarded to the above-named participants.

Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the

31st August, 2004, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ten

members of said Council.
