Research the matter to find out if the Marshal and Sheriff Departments

would be subject to any kind of a Public Safety Review Board; since, elected

officials head these departments. (Request of Mayor Pro Tem Rodgers)

TO THE CITY ATTORNEY & CITY MANAGER:



CITIZEN REVIEW COMMITTEE:



Study the issues regarding a Citizen Review Committee to understand the

complexities involved and present the findings to the Council in a work

session. (Request of Mayor Poydasheff)



Research information that would be received throughout the United States

regarding Citizen Review Committees and from this material, the Administration

determine if there should be a recommendation brought to the Council for

consideration for a Citizen Review Committee. Let?s also include the Public

Safety Committee that is chaired by Councilor Anthony. (Request of Councilor

Turner Pugh)

TO THE CITY MANAGER:



CITIZEN REVIEW COMMITTEE:



Consider forming a Public Safety Advisory Board to be comprised of

citizens, who would review matters that have a bad result from an interaction

between a Public Safety Official and the citizen. The advisory board would not

oversee the Departments of Public Safety but would advise. (Request of

Councilor Hunter)

Have the staff to check every piece of property that has been declared

surplus to make sure there are no complications. (Request of Councilor

McDaniel)
