A RESOLUTION

NO.



WHEREAS, Mrs. Margaret Louise Lynch Belcher of Columbus died on September 29,

2002;



WHEREAS, Mrs. Belcher was born on May 11, 1922 in Dallas, Georgia and later

moved to Columbus where she resided for 62 years;



WHEREAS, she was the owner-operator of Belcher?s Bookkeeping Services in

Columbus;



WHEREAS, Mrs. Belcher was also a member of the Business and Professional Women

Club and the NAACP;



WHEREAS, Mrs. Belcher was a member of Modern Free and Accepted Masons of the

World, serving as the Past Supreme Grand Matron, Most Worthy Grand Matron of

Esarhaddon Grand Sphinx, Past Grand Matron of Georgia, member of Cassiopia

Chapter No. 235 Order of the Eastern Star, member of Excellency Amaranth Court,

member of Eloquent Ladies Court of Jericho and member of Nepthy Isis Court;



WHEREAS, she was an active member of the Friendship Baptist Church where she

served as the Financial Secretary;



WHEREAS, Mrs. Belcher was the daughter of the late Samuel E. and Bessie Stokes

Lynch;



WHEREAS, she is survived by her daughter, Brenda B. Ancrum (James) of Monroe,

Georgia; two grandchildren, Kimberly Ancrum Hunley (Kevin) of Phoenix, Arizona

and James Michael Ancrum of Monroe, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Kevin

James, Kenneth Andre? and Kaila Regine Hunley; and two sisters, Mary Daniels of

Birmingham, Alabama and Bessie Simmons of Anniston, Alabama.



NOW, THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:



We hereby convey our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of

Mrs. Margaret Louise Lynch Belcher. She made Columbus a better community in

which to live and she will be missed by all who knew her. Let a copy of this

resolution be forwarded to the family of Mrs. Margaret Louise Lynch Belcher.
