A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING METRA BUS OPERATORS FOR

DEMONSTRATING THEIR EXPERT DRIVING SKILLS IN THE ANNUAL SOUTHWEST GEORGIA LOCAL

TRANSIT ROADEO COMPETITION.



WHEREAS, on April 4, 2004, METRA Transit System hosted the Annual Southwest

Georgia Local Transit Roadeo Competition in Columbus, Georgia; and



WHEREAS, three systems throughout the southwest participated, consisting

of: METRA Transit System, Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority and Albany

Transit System; and



WHEREAS, the following METRA Bus Operators participated in the Roadeo

event: Roger Sinquefield-1st Place; Raymond Roberts-2nd Place; Moses Smith-3rd

Place; Arthur Askew and Luebirder Edge; and



WHEREAS, METRA Bus Operators won the team trophy in the thirty-five foot

category against Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority and Albany Transit System;

and



WHEREAS, METRA Bus Operators will go on to compete in the State Bus Roadeo

Competition, which will be held at Gwinnett County Transit, Lawrenceville,

Georgia on July 11, 2004.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY

RESOLVES:



We commend and congratulate METRA Bus Operators for demonstrating their

expert driving skills in the Local Bus Operator's Roadeo Competition. METRA's

accomplishment gives local and statewide recognition to METRA. They are an

asset to the Columbus Consolidated Government and to the entire community.

the affirmative vote of members of said Council.
