BUILDING CONTRACTORS EXAMINING BOARD

REGULAR MEETING - 11:00 A. M. ? NOVEMBER 6, 2003





The regular monthly meeting of the Building Contractors' Examining

Board was held Thursday, November 6, 2003, at 11:00 A. M., in the office of the

Building Official. Members present were:

Mr. Howard Bartlett Mr. William L. Duck, Jr.

Mr. Johnny Cargill Mr. Tommy Hinton

Mr. Allen Wright



Five (5) applications were considered by the Board. A Certificate of

Qualification was issued to the following applicant:



Residential Certificate

David Franklin Prince, Jr.

F. Prince Contracting Company, Columbus, Georgia



Mr. Cargill made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Bartlett, to issue a

Certificate of Qualification to this applicant on the basis of his grade on the

examination, his letters of recommendation, and his qualifications, as revealed

by his resume, which showed the times and places of his work experience.

(Examinations were administered by International Code Congress {formerly,

SBCCI, Southern Building Code Congress, International}, on Saturday, November

1, 2003.) Motion carried unanimously.



None of the other four (4) who applied passed the examination. Mr.

Hinton made a motion, which was seconded by Mr. Cargill not to issue

Certificates of Qualification to these four applicants until they pass the

examination. Motion carried unanimously.



Mr. Duck told the Board Members that John Kittrell, d/b/a J.K.

Builders, Inc., withdrew his appeal of the Decision of this Board to revoke his

Certificate of Qualification and did not appear before Council on Tuesday,

October 21, 2003, at 9:00 A.M., as was scheduled. Mr. Duck explained that the

Board's decision to revoke Mr. Kittrell's Certificate is final and that he will

have no other appeal.



The Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of October 2, 2003, were approved as

presented.



There being no further business to come before the Board, the

meeting adjourned at 11:25 A. M.
