week and said that it's not a Health Department issue that it's a

COMPLETED ACTION

DESCRIPTION OF ACTION TAKEN:

DATE TO WHOM ASSIGNED COMMENTS

07/22/2003 Rebecca Wiggins On 4-3-03 I condemned 3 accessory structures in the rear

yard. Since then, one has been removed, the other two have been emptied of

their contents. We are prepared to have asbestos surveys done on the two which

remain. The owner called recently & has expressed that he will have them

removed privately. We will, however, continue the demo process.

During the 16 years I have worked for the city, we have rec'd a complaint about

this house at least once a year. It has been vacant for about 20 years. There

is no grass in the front yard, but leaves from the trees accumulate, along with

some small limbs that fall. The rear yard probably needs cutting. Regarding

the house itself, several years ago (1997, I think) the owner replaced the roof

shingles as well as the decking. He replaced all rotten fascia & soffit. The

windows are secured with plywood which is painted the same color as the trim on

the house. Once, one of the boards was removed & we had him replace it. He

boarded up the existing carport & probably has stuff stored in there.

The owner lives in Huntsville, Al. & is in poor health. I have suggested that

the house may be too much of a burden now, & that he might consider selling

it.

This is by no means an attractive house, but does not have code violations.
