Background
-
St. Paul United Methodist Church is requesting that the City execute a Quit
Claim Deed for all rights, title and interest that the City may have in the
easement to the alley portion of the property at 1928 Forest Avenue (a/k/a 185
023 001) and 2011 Wildwood Avenue (a/k/a 185 023 015), Columbus, Muscogee
County, Georgia. The Church has acquired two adjoining lots that are bounded
on Leonard Street and Wildwood Avenue (see attached tax map). The purchase of
these lots is to construct a parking lot to serve its members. The alley to be
abandoned consists of 81.47 ft x 15 ft. +/- and 28.83 ft. x 7.5 ft. +/-. (See
tax map marked in yellow).
-
Analysis
-
The Engineering Department has examined the alley and has no objection to
abandoning the 81.47 ft. x 15 ft. +/- and 28.83 ft. x 7.5 ft. +/- along 1928
Forest Avenue & 2011 Wildwood Avenue portion of the easement. Written
confirmation has been received from all public utilities stating there are no
active utilities located on said easements.
