Recommendation

Approval is requested to purchase 2.72 +/- acres of property and to accept a \n \n donation of 1.67 +/- acres for a total of 4.39 +/- acres located on the \n \n southeast corner of Milgen Road and Cooper Creek Park, identified as Part of \n \n Land Lots 6&7, 8th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia (see attached \n \n maps). Funding will be provided from the Green Space Program.

Background

The 4.39 +/- acres being acquired/donated is described as Part of Land Lots 6

and 7, 8th District which is a part of a 13.188 +/- acres tract as identified

on Plat prepared by Moon, Meeks and Mason, Inc. The property is located on

the southeast corner of Milgen Road and Cooper Creek Parkway in Columbus,

Muscogee County, Georgia.

Analysis

The City will be purchasing the 2.72 acres +/- from the Green Space Funds and

1.67 +/-acres will be donated to the City for future expansion of Cooper Creek

Park. This property is located on the southeast corner of Milgen Road and

Cooper Creek Parkway and will serve the Green Space program well.

Financial Considerations

The owner agrees to accept payment in the amount of $200,000.00. The Property

is zoned M1, Manufacturing.

Legal Considerations

Council must approve the acceptance of real estate. Property will be

transferred by Warranty Deed.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approve the attached Resolution for the acquisition/donation of land to the

City.
