Background

Flat Rock Court currently consists of three commercial tracts. The street has

been completed and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the

City.

Analysis

A deed has been submitted conveying to the City Flat Rock Court located in part

of Land Lot 62, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. Description

of the property is as follows: "All that tract or parcel of land situate,

lying and being in Land Lot 62, of the 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia and being that certain road and road right-of-way, more particularly

described as "Flat Rock Court" as more particularly described on that certain

Plat (herein called the "Final Plat") entitled "Revised Plat of Part of Land

Lot 62, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" prepared by Moon,

Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc., dated June 7, 2001, filed for record in Plat Book

144, Page 37 in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee

County, Georgia and to which map or plat reference is hereby made for a more

particular description of the property hereby conveyed."

Financial Considerations

No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated streets

must be accepted by written resolution of Council.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to Flat Rock Court located in part of

Land Lot 62, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.

















A RESOLUTION

NO. _________

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO FLAT ROCK COURT ON BEHALF

OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, said Flat Rock Court has been completed and meets the required

specifications; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected

a survey of Flat Rock Court and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the deed dated __19th__ day of __June__, 2002, conveying to

Columbus, Georgia, the Flat Rock Court located in part of Land Lot 62, 9th

District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia., a copy of which is attached

hereto and by this reference made a part of this Resolution, be and the same

is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said

deed recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee

County, Georgia.
