Background

The Holiday Schedule has historically been approved by City Council to assist

various departments and organizations in developing their calendar schedules.

All holidays and the floating holiday have been established. This amendment

Columbus Day and the employee's birthdy to the holiday schedule.

Analysis

Columbus Day is Monday, October 14, 2002 and employees may take their birthday

holiday 30 days prior to the date of their birthday, the day of their birthday,

or 30 days after the date of their birthday. Columbus Day and the employee's

birthday were approved in the FY03 Budget.

A RESOLUTION



No.



WHEREAS, all holidays and floating holiday have been established, and,





WHEREAS, the Council approved Columbus Day and the employee?s birthday as

additional holidays in the FY03 budget, and



WHEREAS, the employees may take their day off during the time period beginning

30 days prior to their birthday and ending 30 days after their birthday.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:



1. That the Holiday Schedule for FY2003 is hereby approved as attached to

include Columbus Day and the employee?s birthday.

2. That the employees may take their day off during the time period beginning

30 days prior to their birthday and ending 30 days after their birthday.





INTRODUCED at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on

the
