Recommendation
Approval is requested to execute a deed to Mark Alexander Building Contractor, \n \n Fairway View Apartments, for a 20 ft. water main easement across the City \n \n right-of-way, to connect the existing water meter located at 7777 Schomburg \n \n Road to future Phase II of Fairway View Apartments located across the \n \n street.(see attached letters and maps).

Background
The 20 ft. easement will total approximately 0.037 +/- acres of City

right-of-way with this easement being used solely for a private water main.

Columbus Water Works has approved the plans for this connection to the existing

water meter with items noted. (see attached letter)
Analysis
A 20 ft. water main easement will be placed on City right-of-way to connect the

existing water meter located at 7777 Schomburg Road to future Phase II of

Fairway View Apartments.
Financial Considerations
Mark Alexander Building Contractor, Fairway View Apartments and/or the

successors will bear all cost associated with the construction and/or

maintenance of the private water main. They will also be responsible for any

damages to City right-of-way due to the existence of this private water main.

Legal Considerations
Council must approve the granting of an easement of City right-of-way to Mark

Alexander Building Contractor, Fairway View Apartments.
