Background

The 1999 SPLOST projects included the development of Oxbow Meadows Park, 19.4

+/- acres.. Currently representatives from the City, Columbus Water Works,

Columbus State University and Infantry Museum are in the preliminary stage of

developing a Master Plan for this area. Orchard Grove Mobile Home Park has

been identified as a critical part to the development of this area.



The development of this area includes Oxbow Meadow Park, Infantry Museum, and

Oxbow Marina, The development of these projects has the potential to have a

significant economic impact on the City of Columbus and particular Columbus

South.



The purchase price of the Orchard Grove Mobile Home Park includes the removal

of all mobile homes on the site.

Analysis

The City has the opportunity to clean-up, restore and redevelop this

property. It is in the best interest of the City to acquire this property.

Financial Considerations

Funds in the amount of $1,050,000 are available in the 1999 SPLOST Funds from

0540-695-2135-50605-TXOM-20040-7611.

Council must approve the purchase of all property.
