Background

Section Two, Sugar Mill Subdivision currently consists of seventeen residential

lots. The street has been improved and meets the required specifications for

acceptance by the City.

Analysis

A deed has been submitted to the City conveying Sugar Mill Court located in

Section Two, Sugar Mill Subdivision. Description of the property is as

follows: "All that tract and parcel of land situate, lying and being in

Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and comprising of a portion of Sugar Mill

Court from the existing right of way in that certain subdivision known as

Section Two, Sugar Mill Subdivision, as said portion of said street is shown

upon a map or plat of said subdivision recorded in Plat Book 146, folios 106 &

107, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County,

Georgia, and to which map or plat reference is hereby made for a more

particular description of the street hereby conveyed."

Financial Considerations

No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO SUGAR MILL COURT LOCATED

IN SECTION TWO, SUGAR MILL SUBDIVISION ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, Sugar Mill Court located in Section Two, Sugar Mill Subdivision, a

full description of said property being shown in said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

street for acceptance by the City and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated the _22nd_ day of _July, 2002_, conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, all of Sugar Mill Court, located in Section Two, Sugar Mill

Subdivision, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is

hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the deed records in the Office

of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of said

deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this Resolution.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the

6th day of August, 2002, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

members of said Council.
