Background

George C. Woodruff Company is requesting that the City execute a Quit Claim

Deed for all rights, title and interest the City may have in a portion of the

existing thirty foot storm sewer easement located on the plat for Lot 21, Block

"F", Section Seventeen, Sweetwater Village.

Analysis

The Engineering Department has examined the property and has no objection to

abandoning that portion of the thirty foot storm sewer easement; which shall

become twenty-three feet in order to make full use of the property.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF AN EXISTING THIRTY

FOOT STORM SEWER EASEMENT AS SHOWN ON PLAT FOR LOT 21, BLOCK "F", SECTION

SEVENTEEN, SWEETWATER VILLAGE TO GEORGE C WOODRUFF COMPANY.



WHEREAS, the owner of the property, George C. Woodruff Company, has requested

the City reduce the easement from the standard thirty feet to twenty-three feet

in order to make full use of the property; which property is located at 6225

Bayberry Drive; and,



WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has no other use for the aforementioned portion of

the existing storm sewer easement.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That the City Manager is hereby authorized to abandon a certain portion of the

storm sewer easement shown on plat for Lot 21, Block "F", Section Seventeen,

Sweetwater Village located at 6225 Bayberry Drive and execute a Quit Claim Deed

to George C. Woodruff Company.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the 6th day of _May 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote

of members of said Council.
