Background

Orchard Phase Three, Garrett Creek Subdivision, currently consists of nineteen

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for accepance by the City.

Analysis

A deed has been submitted conveying to the City Glen Valley Drive, Orchard Glen

Drive and Garrett Creek Drive, located in Orchard Phase Three, Garrett Creek

Subdivision. Description of the property is as follows: " All those lots,

tracts and parcels of land lying and being in Land Lots 129 & 160, of the 9th

District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and shown as all of Glen Valley

Drive, Orchard Glen Drive and Garrett Creek Drive as said roads and

rights-of-way are shown on the map or plat entitled "Garrett Creek Subdivison,

Orchard Phase Three, Land Lots 129 & 160, 9th Land District, Columbus, Muscogee

County, Georgia" prepared by Thomas L. French, Jr., dated April 11, 2002, said

plat recorded in Plat Book 146, page 23, in the Office of the Clerk of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia."

Financial Considerations

No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations

In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.

Drive and Garrett Creek Drive, located in Orchard Phase Three, Garrett Creek

Subdivision.















A RESOLUTION

NO.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO GLEN VALLEY DRIVE, ORCHARD

GLEN DRIVE AND GARRETT CREEK DRIVE LOCATED IN ORCHARD PHASE THREE, GARRETT

CREEK SUBDIVISION, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, a deed has been submitted conveying to Columbus, Georgia, Glen Valley

Drive, Orchard Glen Drive and Garrett Creek Drive located in Orchard Phase

Three, Garrett Creek Subdivision, a full description of said property being

shown in said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

streets and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated _21st_ day of _May, 2002_ conveying to Columbus,

Georgia Glen Valley Drive, Orchard Glen Drive and Garrett Creek Drive, located

in Orchard Phase Three, Garrett Creek Subdivision, be and the same is hereby

accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded

in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of

Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of said deed is hereto attached and by this

reference made a part of this Resolution.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the

21st day of May, 2002, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

members of said Council.
