Background
The Linwood Cemetery Foundation, Inc., has been offered a chapel that was built

in the 1880's currently located in Juniper, Georgia. The foundation has

requested permission to move the Chapel to the Linwood Cemetery site (close to

10th Avenue). They have consulted with Planning and the property would not

need to be re-zoned. The foundation representatives have gone before the Board

of Historic and Architectural Review (BHAR), and have received approval. There

have been requests for functions to be held at the cemetery, however, currently

there are no facilities to promote such activities.
Analysis
This property is owned by the City. The property cannot be used for any other

purpose other than a cemetery and associated facilities.
Financial Considerations
The foundation will pay all associated cost of moving, stabilizing, and

reconstructing the facility. Additionally, the foundation agrees there will be

no cost to the city associated with operating the chapel.
Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement
Legal Considerations
Council is required to authorize the City Manager to acquire, dispose or make

improvements to real property.
