In 2003 the Erosion and Sedimentation Control Act of 1975 for the State of
Georgia was amended to include requirements for the NPDES General Permit for
Construction Activity Requirements.

Analysis
-
As a local issuing authority for Site Development, Columbus-Muscogee County is
required to modify it's current ordinance to meet the state requirements before
July 1. The changes in the law have been implemented over the last several
months to clarify any issues.

Financial Considerations

To date, minimum impacts to the operating budget for implementation of the new
ordinance. Future impacts are unknown at this time.
