Background

The City of Columbus, Georgia has determined a need for an Intersection

Improvement at Williams Road/Whitesville Road and has been approved for said

project with funding from the '99 SPLOST Funds.

Analysis

Several Intersection Projects have been identified for improvement because of

safety issues.

Financial Considerations

The above mentioned project was approved by council to be funded by the '99

SPLOST Fund, for improvement

Legal Considerations

The City Attorney has reviewed this material and concur with the

recommendation.

Recommendations/ Actions

Approval is requested for the acquisition of Right of Way for the Intersection

Improvement of Williams Road @ Whiteville Road Project. to include further

authorization be given to contract for professional services, i.e. real estate

appraisers, legal counsel, utility re-location, etc., upon compliance with

Procurement Ordinance and subsequent agreements to implement the above

mentioned project, in Columbus, Georgia.
