Background

The City in Partnership with the Liberty District Stakeholders developed a

master plan to promote a planned development neighborhood. The master plan

encompass the area from Victory Drive to 11th Avenue and Veteran Parkway to

10th Street. The Liberty District Master Plan is needed to promote planned

redevelopment.

Analysis

The Consultant, Stakeholders, Citizens and the Columbus Consolidated Government

(CCG) initiated the Liberty District Master Plan in order to regain the area's

original stability and harmony. The project will set community goals and

establish guidelines for future growth, and provide strategies to accomplish

the neighborhood goals.

Financial Considerations

Resources for the accomplishment of proposed activities in the area will be

Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds and 1999 SPLOST Funds.

Legal Considerations

The City will rezone parcels to comply with area objectives.
