Background
Section Six, Big Creek Subdivision, currently has eight residential lots. The

street has been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance

by the City.
Analysis
A deed has been submitted to the City conveying an extension of Rocky Creek

Drive and located in Section Six, Big Creek Subdivision. A description of the

property is as follows: All those lots, tracts and parcels of land lying and

being in Land Lot 61 of the 8th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia

and shown as said roads and right-of-ways are shown on the map or plat entitled

"Section Six, Big Creek, Lying in Land Lot 61, 8th District, Columbus, Muscogee

County, Georgia; prepared by Hobbs Smith & Associates, Inc., dated December 2,

2002, said plat recorded in Plat Book 148, Page 10, in the Office of the Clerk

of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia and to which map or plat

reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the street hereby

conveyed.
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to an extension of Rocky Creek Drive

located in Section Six, Big Creek Subdivision.











A RESOLUTION



NO. ________

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO AN EXTENSION OF ROCKY

CREEK DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION SIX, BIG CREEK SUBDIVISION.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, an extension of Rocky Creek Drive located in Section Six, Big Creek

Subdivision; a full description of said property being shown in said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been completed and meets the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

street for acceptance by the City and recommends acceptance of same.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated 17th day of January, 2003 , conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, an extension of Rocky Creek Drive located in Section Six, Big Creek

Subdivision be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby

authorized to have said deed recorded in the deed records in the Office of the

Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of said deed

is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this Resolution.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the 28th day of _January, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative

vote of _____________members of said Council.
