Background

Reverend Rudolph C. Allen, Sr., pastor of Revelation Missionary Baptist Church

will be retiring on December 31, 2004. The church has been under his leadership

for almost 24 years. In order to honor Reverend Allen, the members of the

Church are asking the City to change the name of Bogart Drive to R C Allen

Drive.

Analysis

The members of the Church were advised to contact the surrounding property

owners for their comments. The church obtained concurrence with the property

owners, fourteen (14) out of twenty-four (24), one (1) received that does not

concur and nine (9) no responses. Since the property owners concur, the

Traffic Engineering Division recommends the name change.

Financial Considerations

The City will install new street signs to reflect the name change from their

operating budget at the cost of approximately $260.00
