Background
These programs are designed to offer snacks/meals, tutoring, field trips, a

safe environment and positive activities for the students who attend Marshall

Middle School. The After School Program is provided Monday through Thursday

from 4:00PM-6:00PM during the school year and the Summer Program is provided

Monday through Friday from 9:00AM-4:00PM during the summer.
Analysis
The Knight Foundation is funding this grant at a minimal cost to the Department

of Parks and Recreation or the City of Columbus. This grant is a continuation

of grant funding that was received during the 2004-2005 fiscal year and will

continue throughout fiscal years 2005-2006.
Financial Considerations
The grant is approximately $25,000.00 for the Marshall Mover After School and

Summer Programs. The City is not required to put up matching funds to

participate in this grant but it is required to provide some in-kind services

which are done by means of the facility usage and some staff hours.
