Subject land sits adjacent to Flat Rock Park and is approximately 2.433acres
+/-. The land runs near a railroad line trussel with a creek running underneath
the trussel and could be used as part of the rails to trails program or it may
be turned into a passive park, or other use considered in the best interest of
the City.

Analysis
-
The property would be an excellent addition to Flat Rock Park, the City could
utilize the property for Rails and Trails, Green Space and/or for public uses.

Financial Considerations

The Fair Market Value is considered to be $50,000.00; the owner of the property
would like to donate the property to the City. The property has been in the
possession of the owner since 1999 and is zoned R-4.

A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF 2.433 +/- ACRES OF PROPERTY ADJACENT
TO FLAT ROCK PARK TO BE USED IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF THE CITY OF
COLUMBUS, MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GEORGIA, IDENTIFIED AS TAX MAP PARCEL 110-002-010A
(SEE ATTACHED MAP).
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Consolidated Government of Columbus,
Georgia to accept the donation of the property; and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined the Fair Market Value of the property is
$50,000 is fair and equitable, and the owner will donate the property to the
City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to accept the donation of
approximately 2.433 +/- acres of property adjacent to Flat Rock Park and file
the Warranty Deed with Superior Court Clerk for permanent record.
