Background
The portions of Weems Road, Whittlesey Boulevard and Adams Farm Drive, referred

to Parcels 1-5 on the deed are principally located in Land Lots 22, 38, 39 and

43, all of which are in the 8th District, City of Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia.
Analysis
As part of the Agreement for the Columbus Park Project, certain roadway

improvements were requested. A deed has been submitted conveying to the City a

portion of Weems Road, Whittlesey Boulevard and Adams Drive. The description

of the property is as follows: All those tracts or parcels of land herein

referred to as Parcels 1, 2, 3, and 5 lying and being in Land Lot 43 of the 8th

District of the City of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. Also, all that

tract or parcel of land herein referred to as Parcel 4 lying in Land Lots 22,

38, 39 and 43 of the City of Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. Said real

estate is more particularly described on Exhibit "A", and shown on the plat

being entitled "Final Plat" for Columbus Park, dated July 15, 2002 and prepared

for Grantor by Post, Buckley, Schuh & Jernigan, Inc. for use as public roads,

streets and rights-of-way to be known as, and shown on the Plat as, Weems Road,

Whittlesey Boulevard and Adams Farm Drive to be filed in the Office of the

Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia and to which map or

plat reference is hereby made for a more particular description of the property

hereby conveyed.
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting the deed to Weems Road, Whittlesey Boulevard

and Adams Farm Drive.















A RESOLUTION

NO.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO WEEMS ROAD, WHITTLESEY

BOULEVARD AND ADAMS FARM DRIVE.

WHEREAS, the other portions of the right-of-way are already in existence and

under the ownership by the City; and

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying a portion of

Weems Road, Whittlesey Boulevard and Adams Farm Drive, a full description of

said property being shown in said deed and referred to as Parcels 1 through 5;

and

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

streets and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated the __15th__ day of __July, 2002_, conveying to

Columbus, Georgia a portion of Weems Road, Whittlesey Boulevard and Adams Farm

Drive, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby

authorized to have said deed recorded in the deed records in the Office of the

Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the

23rd day of July, 2002, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of

members of said Council.
