Recommendation

Approval is requested to purchase properties listed below for the Oxbow Marina \n \n Project in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. \n \n \n \n 3569 South Lumpkin Road a/k/a Tax Map # 061 001 005, 006 and part of 013 \n \n containing 12.17 +/- acres; \n \n 3601 South Lumpkin Road a/k/a Tax Map # 061 001 008 containing 1.04 +/- acres; \n \n 3613 South Lumpkin Road a/k/a 061 001 007A containing 0.07 +/- acres; \n \n 3619 South Lumpkin Road a/k/a Tax Map # 061 001 007 containing 1.02 +/- acres

Background

The City has acquired properties in the Oxbow Marina area. The 14.32 +/-

acres of properties are to be acquired to continue assembling property for the

Oxbow Marina Project. Each of the above properties is located in the southern

portion of Columbus on South Lumpkin Road near the main gate entrance to Fort

Benning Military Reservation.

Analysis

The City will acquire said properties to continue assembling properties for the

future development of the Oxbow Marina Project.

Financial Considerations

The purchase price of said properties shall be $1,000,000. Funds are budgeted

in the Special Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) for the properties acquisitions.

Legal Considerations

A resolution has to be approved by Council in order to purchase the property.
