Approve the Resolution authorizing to execute the agreement between the Georgia \n \n Department of Transportation and the City of Columbus, Georgia.

Background
The Georgia Department of Transportation will assist the City of Columbus,

Georgia in a County Contract to re-surface parking lots at Columbus Technical

College. The College requested the DOT to participate in said project. The

DOT will assist in such projects but can only do it through another Government

entity. The City will support this project administratively only. The

Columbus Technical College will pay the difference of what the DOT will pay.
Analysis
The Department of Transportation has participated in school projects in

Columbus, Georgia. This is normal practice if the project is for public use.
Financial Considerations
The Georgia DOT will pay up to $63,984.00. The College will pay the City the

difference to pay the DOT.

Legal Considerations
The City Attorney disagrees with the indemnification paragraph of the attached

agreement.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution authorizing to execute the attached agreement with the

Georgia DOT and subsequent agreements necessary to implement this project.
