Background
Section Three, Sugar Mill Subdivision, currently consists of thirty-six

residential lots. The streets have been improved and meet the required

specifications for acceptance by the City.
Analysis
A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Plum Court and an extension of

Candy Lane located in Section Three, Sugar Mill Subdivision. All those tracts

and parcels of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County,

Georgia, and comprising of Plum Court and a portion of Candy Lane from the

existing right-of-way in that certain subdivision known as Section Three, Sugar

Mill Subdivision, as said street and portion of said street are shown upon a

map or plat of said subdivision, lying in Land Lot 3, 9th District, Columbus,

Muscogee County, Georgia made by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc. and

recorded in Plat Book 148, folios 109 & 110, in the Office of the Clerk of the

Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, and to which map or plat reference

is hereby made for a more particular description of the streets hereby

conveyed.
Financial Considerations
No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year

warranty expires.

Legal Considerations
In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated

right-of-ways must be accepted by written resolution of Council.
Recommendations/ Actions
Approve the Resolution accepting the deed to Plum Court and an extension of

Candy Lane located in Section Three, Sugar Mill Subdivision.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO PLUM COURT AND AN

EXTENSION OF CANDY LANE LOCATED IN SECTION THREE, SUGAR MILL SUBDIVISION, ON

BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.



WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia, has been submitted a deed conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, Plum Court and an extension of Candy Lane located in Section Three,

Sugar Mill Subdivision; a full description of said streets being shown in said

deed; and,



WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications

for acceptance by the City; and,



WHEREAS, the Engineering Department of Columbus, Georgia has inspected said

streets for acceptance by the City and recommends acceptance of same.



NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY

RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:



That certain deed dated the 24th day of April 2003, conveying to Columbus,

Georgia, all of Plum Court and an extension of Candy Lane, located in Section

Three, Sugar Mill Subdivision, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk

of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the deed records

in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.

A copy of said deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of

this Resolution.



Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held

the 6th day of May, 2003, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote

of members of said Council.
