Approve the attached Resolution declaring property be acquired by the City, and \n \n condemned to clear title and authorize the City Manager to dispose of said \n \n property as surplus, identified as Tax Map Parcel 049-009-006 a/k/a 602 \n \n Chesterfield Ave, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, (see attached map).

Condemnation of this property s necessary to clear title. Columbus Housing
Initiative, Inc. owns an adjacent parcel of property. Columbus Housing
Initiative has approached the property owner at 602 Chesterfield to purchase
the property. The property is in the ownership of a deceased individual that
passed away intestate. CHI has requested the assistance of the City in
proceeding through eminent domain proceedings to clear title to the property.
This will allow CHI to develop the property and return to the tax rolls.

will help rehabilitate the subject property and surrounding residentital area.

Financial Considerations

Columbus Housing Initiative, Inc. agrees to pay all cost associated with said
condemnation and transfer.
